# Module 2 — Know Thyself

## The big idea

You can't match yourself to a career if you don't know yourself first. This isn't a personality quiz that spits out "you should be an architect." It's a quick, honest inventory of what energizes you, what drains you, and what you're willing to trade.

## Why it matters

Two people can have the same job and one thrives while the other burns out — because the *fit* is different. Pay attention to the texture of work you enjoy, not just the title.

## Four lenses

Work through each in your notebook:

**1. Energy.** What activities make you lose track of time? When do you feel most "in the zone"? When do you feel drained?

**2. Strengths.** What do people come to you for? What's easy for you that others find hard?

**3. Values & trade-offs.** Rank these by what matters most to you right now: high pay · job security · helping people · creativity · flexibility/freedom · prestige · low stress · variety · working with your hands · working with ideas.

**4. Constraints & willingness.** Honestly: How much school are you willing to do? How much debt is acceptable? Do you want to work indoors or outdoors, with people or solo, on a screen or with tools?

## Activity

Write one sentence that captures your current self-portrait, like:

> "I get energy from solving puzzles and building things, I'm strong at math and explaining ideas, I value flexibility over prestige, and I'd rather not take on more than ~$30k of debt."

This sentence becomes your filter. As you explore worlds in later modules, you'll hold each one up against it.
